"Fabulous!" ~ October 2011

My partner and I went to the Thai Elephant a couple of weekends ago for a spur of the moment meal. We've been before a couple of years ago and I don't know why we have left it so long before returning because the food really is excellent. Both of us favour tofu when it's on the menu, even though I eat meat, I like good, well flavoured tofu dishes and this is one place to find it. I had a starter of prawn toast (delicious) while my partner had vegetable tempura style veggies and chilli dip. We both had a tofu main - I had red curry with sticky rice and my partner had ginger stir fried tofu with coconut rice. The service is very good and the ambience lovely - the food is beautifully presented and overall this is a great place to eat.

A small gem in the somerset village of Street. I drove past its tiny shop front many times without giving it a second thought. I am so glad I did venture in as the food was great. I have returned with friends many times now and have never had a bad meal there. The food has always been fresh and tastes great. The cost is very reasonable. I think that it is one of those places you can take friends and know that they will not be disappointed in your choice.

I have been to this restaurant many times for lunch only. The food is always excellent and represents fantastic value for money with a two course meal costing about £8. The food is fresh and tastes great. The service is always polite and welcoming. I cannot give it more stars for a number of reasons. Firstly, i have not experienced it when it is busy, as this is really a true test of any restaurant. And secondly, I have noticed over the months I have been there that they have made a few very subtle cutbacks. The Thai Curry used to have an unusual pea or pod like ingredient in it which I liked, it is an authentic Thai ingredient, this is no longer used. Also, every table had a few prawn crackers with a dip given upon arrival, this has stopped. I will continue to eat there as the Thai flavours are great

This restaurant, from the moment you enter has a truly Thai feeling. The welcome is friendly, warm and inviting. The food is nothing less than delicious. Service is attentive and courteous. The owner is passionate about offering a great Thai experience to aficionados and newbies alike. Prices are extremely reasonable and in this reviewer's humble opinion great value for the quality. Bottom line? Try it and you will find a haven of great food and company for many happy years.

Our favourite restaurant! The food is delicious, the staff are exceptionally courteous, the decor is light and clean and there is access to a small secluded garden.
